About VOW for Girls
- VOW for Girls champions the girls around the world without the rights, resources and choices to decide their own futures.
- VOW partners with local leaders worldwide to eradicate the causes of child marriage and create opportunities for every girl to be unstoppable. Together, we expand her access to education, encourage her leadership, and shift local social norms that limit her future.
Areas of focus:
Education
- The more years a girl attends school, the more control she has over her future. We help her access and benefit from primary, secondary, and specialized educational programs by:
- Paying for her education, school supplies, and transportation costs.
- Improving menstrual health and hygiene curriculum to keep her in school.
- Deepening her understanding of her rights and what to do if her future is threatened.
Encouraging Girls' Leadership
- We encourage girls to become leaders in their own communities.
- When a girl has the opportunity to be a leader in her community, she finds her voice and uses it to advocate for herself and others. We encourage girls' leadership and help them realize their individual and collective power by:
